Singer was born on November 26, 1986, at Santa Monica California. She is the child of her dad Vincenzo and her maternal grandmother Valerie Barba. When she was six, the family relocated into Point Pleasant New Jersey. After moving to New Jersey, she finished her studies through Red Bank Catholic High School. Following her graduation of Catholic University with a Bachelor's in Architecture, she continued her studies at the school. In addition, she was a player on the violin at the age of 4 and was known by the name of Violin Lady. As a result of her music performance, she was referred to as Violin Girl. She also taught the violin to neighborhood kids. In the six season of American Idol, she sang Free in 1976 when she was nineteen. She was subsequently eliminated finishing 16th on the show.
